President Bola Tinubu has forwarded a National Minimum Wage Bill to the Senate. Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, has read the covering letter of the bill to senators in the Red Chamber in Abuja. Tinubu stated that the bill aims to prescribe a national minimum wage and provide the legal framework for a seamless review of the national minimum wage.

The bill was immediately committed to the Committee of the Whole for expeditious consideration by senators.

Recall that the Federal Government and organized labour, after a series of deliberations, settled on N70,000 as the new minimum wage, up from the current N30,000.
