The Director-General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dr. Dasuki Arabi emphasized the need for an ethical framework to guide the adoption of AI, blockchain, and other emerging technologies in Nigeria’s public service.
Nigeria aims to transition to a paperless public service by 2030, leveraging technologies like AI, blockchain, and IoT, while addressing the risks of data security breaches.
Despite progress in public service reforms, Dr. Arabi highlighted the challenges of aligning with emerging technologies and stressed the need for accountability frameworks.
Dr. Arabi called for deeper public-private partnerships to address Nigeria’s economic challenges and drive innovation in public sector reforms.
Professor Akintola Bello and other stakeholders emphasized the need for a cultural shift towards embracing modern technologies and methods in public service to overcome past mistakes and enhance effectiveness.
