Controversial musician Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has expressed skepticism regarding the recent assassination attempt on former US President and current Republican candidate Donald Trump, suggesting it might be a setup by Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.
Thepaan reports that two individuals died following gunfire at Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania, with Trump being swiftly escorted offstage by security, as reported by the Associated Press. The FBI has identified 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the “subject involved” in the assassination attempt on Trump.
Taking to his X handle on Sunday, Charly Boy shared his doubts, saying he doesn’t trust Trump and called for a thorough investigation into the incident.
He wrote: “America Wonder. There is smtin about dis Trumps alleged Assassination dat don’t add up for me, something about all dis mess smells of a Maga setup. I Don’t fucking trust Trump. Why was a rooftop with a direct line of sight 148 yards from the stage left unsecured to begin with?
