Chelsea left back Ben Chilwell has been given a 15-day ultimatum to leave the club if he is to continue playing matches.

The 2024/25 summer transfer window is winding down and the club is really fighting against time to shuffle the team to the rest of the manager Enzo Maresca.

Chilwell 27, who joined from Leicester City in a £51 million barely four years ago has been handed a free-to-go message in clear terms as the coach does not want to work with him.

This could be down to the super performance of Spanish left back Marc Cucurella who had a sublime time in France after helping Spain win the converted European trophy.

Maresca was vocal enough to tell Chilwell to leave as quoted by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on his official Facebook page.

“Yes, I think it’s probably better he goes and leaves so he can find minutes he deserves”, Enzo says on Chilly.

“I love the way he is, the problem is that he’s struggling to find the right position with us so he might leave”. He added.

The England left back is not the only player to face the ruthless axe by Maresca, Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah have also been excused from the first team.
