The Scottish side Celtic were merciless in their Pre-Season friendly against Stamford Bridge outfit Chelsea, beating them 4-1 in their second game of the United States tour.
Chelsea were so much in disarray as the Scottish side showed more class and persistence against the Premier league side.
Celtic capitalized on several errors from the London-based club to spark their preparation for the new season with light.
Celtic got their lead in the 18th minute through Matt O’Reilly after being assisted by Tailor.
The Scottish side wasted no time as they doubled their lead in the 32nd minutes through Kyogo Furuhashi with the previous goalscorer O’Reilly turning the provider this time.
Palma added the third of the night for Celtic in the 76th minute after capitalizing on Chelsea’s defensive blunder before Johnstone added the icing on the cake to make it 4-0 in the 78th minute.
Chelsea pulled one back through Christopher Nkunku from the spot after his goal was counted as a mere consolation for Chelsea.
The loss means they are winless in their two Pre-Season games after playing a 2-2 draw with league one side Wrexham in their previous game.
Enzo Maresca responded to their 2-2 with Wrexham and 4-1 defeat to Celtic saying, “For sure we are going to be ready for the first PL game against Man City at home”.
“On the ball it’s much better we created chances, off the ball we need to improve”.
