In order to enhance a culture of educational excellence, the Chief Diana Chen Foundation has supported 25 students from Yaba College of Technology for an 18-month technical skills training program in China.

This groundbreaking initiative, had a generous support from Hangzhou Vocational and Technical College in China, Yaba College of Technology, CIG Motors Company Limited, and the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China, which reflects a deep dedication to nurturing Nigeria’s talents and promoting international cooperation.

This information was shared during the launch of the Silk Road International Fellowship Program in Lagos on May 14, 2024. The program aims to introduce a technical skills exchange initiative that will take place in China. Twenty male students and five female students from various engineering departments at Yabatech will participate in this training to acquire diverse technical skills.

At the event, Chen spoke that, “The Silk Road International Fellowship Programme aims to cultivate a new generation of market-ready graduates, with the relevant skills to solve the critical problems facing businesses in Nigeria

“These engineering undergraduates/ graduates (awardees) of Yaba College of Technology would be receiving a fully funded 18 months vocational training at the Hangzhou Vocational and Technical College in China. At the end of their training in China, we would provide job opportunities for the successful graduates.”
