Early this morning in the serene community of Ogbomoso, Oyo State, vigilant residents apprehended a man attempting to steal farm produce from a local farmer.
The incident occurred around 5:30 AM when the suspect, identified as Olabayo, was caught red-handed harvesting yams and maize from the farm of Mr. Adeosun.
According to eyewitnesses, Olabayo had arrived at the farm in the early hours, likely hoping to avoid detection by the farmer or other locals.
Mr. Adeosun, who had planned to tend to his farm early, was taken aback to find Olabayo in the midst of his illicit activity. He immediately raised an alarm, drawing the attention of nearby residents.
The community, known for its strong sense of solidarity, quickly responded and surrounded the thief, preventing any chance of escape.
Local vigilante members were called to the scene and took custody of Olabayo, who was later handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
