The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has decided to extend the registration period for all Point of Sale (PoS) Operators by an extra 60 days. This extension aims to give more time to those who couldn’t register due to technical problems.

On Sunday, the CAC announced this extension on its X social media account, noting that the new deadline would now be two months later than the original one.

“The Corporate Affairs Commission wants to inform all Fintech Operators, also known as Point of Sale (POS) Operators, that the initial deadline of July 7, 2024, for the registration of sole Agents, Super Agents, and Agents has been extended by 60 days. The new deadline is now set from July 7, 2024, to September 5, 2024.

This extension is meant to help Operators, especially those in remote areas who faced network issues, complete their registration process.

However, the CAC warned that any Operators who do not register by the end of this extended period risk losing their business operations and could face prosecution for supporting criminal activities.
