The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), Engr. Uzoma Nwagba, has reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to leveraging the scheme to improve access to life-enhancing goods and services for Nigerians.
Engr. Nwagba disclosed that approximately 25,000 civil servants have already benefited from the recently introduced consumer credit scheme, with a target to reach 400,000 civil servants and others by the second quarter of 2025.
The assurance was given during a working visit to the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Madam Didi Esther Walson-Jack, at her office.
The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration and showcasing the corporation’s activities, including its newly launched CALM Fund.
The CALM Fund is designed to provide civil servants and other citizens access to compressed natural gas (CNG) conversions and solar panels, promoting sustainable energy solutions.
Nwagba emphasized the critical role civil servants play as key beneficiaries of the initiative and expressed optimism about fostering deeper engagements with the civil service to achieve the set goals.He reiterated CREDICORP’s commitment to ensuring wide access to credit facilities for improved living standards by 2025.
