Customs Area Controller Comptroller Garba Bashir of the Adamawa/Taraba Area Command addressed reporters at the command’s headquarters in Yola, detailing the operations conducted by his team from the 29th of last month to the present.
He disclosed that a vehicle with a concealed compartment loaded with petrol was intercepted along the Girei-Wuro Boki axis of Adamawa State.

Despite the repeal of PMS subsidies, smuggling remains rampant from Nigeria into neighboring countries, driven by high fuel demand and inflated prices in countries like Cameroon and Benin Republic.Bashir pointed out that some individuals exploit these price differentials for unlawful personal gains.
Bashir emphasized the Customs Command’s commitment to curbing smuggling activities, asserting that they will persist in their efforts to eradicate smuggling entirely.”We will continue our operations relentlessly until smuggling activities are significantly reduced,” he declared.
