Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has been released from police custody after spending six days detained following his arrest over defamation allegations brought by fellow artist Davido.

The singer’s release, which took place on Thursday, August 29, 2024, was announced by popular social media critic, Verydarkman (VDM), who shared the news in a trending Instagram video.

In the video, Dammy Krane publicly apologized to Davido, retracting his previous statements and seeking to mend their relationship. “I want to say a big thank you to my brother. There are a lot of words that ought not to be said. I want to apologize for Tagbo’s death allegation. David is still my brother, and we are going to find common ground to resolve everything,” Dammy Krane expressed.

VDM, while sharing the video, wrote, “Dammykrane is out. Dear @davido, as you have honoured me by listening to my plea in less than 4 hours, God will honour you. I believe God is giving him a second chance, and I hope he focuses on his music moving forward.”
