Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), calling it “the most dangerous institution in Nigeria.”
Davido voiced his concerns on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday during the ongoing gubernatorial election in Edo State.
“The most dangerous institution in Nigeria @inecnigeria,” he boldly stated in one of his posts.
In his continued commentary, Davido urged residents of Edo State to remain vigilant and track their votes closely from polling units to the state collation center. He also expressed doubts about INEC’s commitment to electronically transmit election results despite prior assurances.
“We already know that @inecnigeria will not transmit results electronically, so everyone should be ready to follow the vote/result from the polling unit up until the state collation centre,” Davido warned.
He added, “Winning is one thing. Being declared a winner is another thing! … From 7pm, make una go dey mount collation center!! #EdoDecide2024.”
Davido’s remarks have sparked conversation, with many closely watching the ongoing election and the role of INEC in ensuring transparency.
