Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has opened up about how he navigates the pain of losing loved ones.
The artist, who has experienced significant personal losses over the years, shared how his faith has been a crucial source of strength.
He lost his mother, Mrs. Victoria Imade Adeleke, at the young age of 11, and more recently, his 3-year-old son Ifeanyi Adeleke, as well as close associates like Tagbo, DJ Olu, Obama DMW, and photographer Fortune, Davido’s journey through grief has been difficult.
In a recent interview with Mystery Fashionist in New York, the singer revealed, “I have lost a lot of people. I lost my mum at the age of eleven. I’m just being strong. I did a song called ‘Stand Strong.’ I feel like strength and obviously, my faith has kept me going.”

Davido also addressed misconceptions about his personality, stating, “I think sometimes, people think I am not approachable. Another misconception is that people also think I am too accessible.”
He added, “I grew up in a big family, I’m used to having people around me. My talent and success is God-given.”
Despite his grief, Davido continues to lean on his faith and music to find solace, reminding his fans of his resilience and humility.
