Renowned human rights activist and Labour Party chieftain in Edo State, Chief Patrick Eholor, has confidently foretold a landslide triumph for the Labour Party (LP) in the upcoming September 21st Edo state governorship election.

Eholor boldly asserted that if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were to conduct the election today, the Labour Party would indisputably dominate the polls.

Eholor attributed this projected success to the prevailing hardship endured by Nigerians under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He emphasized that the people of Edo State are unwilling to vote for the APC, as they refuse to perpetuate the ongoing suffering in the state and the nation as a whole. Additionally, he dismissed the prospects of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing internal conflicts that render their chances of victory bleak.

However, Eholor sternly cautioned Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government against interfering in the forthcoming Edo election. Instead, he urged them to focus on alleviating the hardship and suffering inflicted upon Nigerians by the APC administration.

Expressing concern, Eholor advised the Independent National Electoral Commission not to succumb to potential pressures from the federal government to manipulate the electoral process in favor of a specific political party.

He stressed that such actions would undermine the very foundation of democracy in Nigeria, for which the people have tirelessly fought.

While urging INEC to demonstrate impartiality, Eholor implored them to allow the people of Edo to freely exercise their voting rights and urged them to set a precedent for credible elections in the country.

He also cautioned security agents not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to intimidate voters on election day, reminding them that their duty is to maintain law and order to ensure a free and fair election.

Addressing the ongoing crisis within the Labour Party, Eholor acknowledged that party conflicts are a global phenomenon affecting political parties worldwide. However, he reassured that the internal strife would not hinder the party’s chances of emerging victorious in the September election.

He pledged to remain loyal to the party, emphasizing his commitment to its growth and resolving the crisis amicably, considering the substantial resources he has invested in building the party.
