The Jaga Jaga master, Eedris Abdulkareem has accused Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka of refraining from criticizing President Bola Tinubu despite the current hardships in Nigeria, attributing this to Soyinka’s personal relationship with the president.

Abdulkareem expressed his discontent with Soyinka’s silence, noting that the esteemed writer, known for his outspoken criticism of previous administrations, has not been vocal about the current government’s challenges.

“He [Wole Soyinka] has been very quiet lately. I know he has a good relationship with Tinubu so we know why,” Abdulkareem told SRTV.

Last year, Soyinka addressed his perceived silence regarding the nation’s hardships, stating it was “too early” to judge President Tinubu’s administration and promising to provide an assessment after a year in office.

Thepaan reports that nearly a month has passed since President Tinubu’s administration completed its first year, yet the Nobel laureate has not delivered the promised evaluation.
