The Federal Government has declared Monday, the 17th, and Tuesday, the 18th, as public holidays to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival.

This announcement was made in a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, on Friday in Abuja.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, extended his congratulations to all Muslims both within the country and abroad.

He encouraged the Muslim community to continue embodying the values of peace, kindness, and sacrifice, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).

Tunji-Ojo also urged everyone to use this period to pray for the unity, prosperity, and stability of the nation.

The minister emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians.

In his well wishes for a joyous celebration, the minister also called on all Nigerians to take responsibility for ensuring a prosperous future for the next generation.
