Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong made his league debut for his new side Al Kholood in the Saudi Arabian Pro league.
Ekong started in the heart of the defence for his new side but could only help them to a 1-0 loss.
Ekong who captained Nigeria at the just concluded African Cup of Nations to a second place finish went straight into the starting Lineup against Al Ittihad.
Houssem Aouar scored what was the winning goal in the added time after breaking the deadlock in the 94th minute to gift his side the lead and eventual victory.
The Nigerian played the full 90 minutes after displaying a solid performance and also hoping to build from there.
