Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has firmly denied allegations that he has switched from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a post on his verified X account, El-Rufai labelled the rumours as “patent lies” and encouraged Nigerians to ignore such unfounded claims.
He also revealed that he has taken legal steps against those spreading this misinformation.
El-Rufai tweeted, “Please ignore the blatant lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the main purveyors of this fake news to my lawyers for further action.”
A founding member of the APC, El-Rufai served as Governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023 and was previously the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory from 2003 to 2007.
