The English Football association has announced possible plans to replace head coach Gareth Southgate following Sunday’s defeat in the Euros final.

Four names have been mentioned to replace Southgate with the FA waiting for the next decision of either to sack him or his resignation.

Football association (FA) Chief executive Mark Bellingham according to Sky Sports said on Tuesday that they are waiting for Southgate to either resign from his role for a new manager to be appointed.

Former Tottenham and PSG coach Mauricio Pochetino, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, Lee Carlsley and former Brighton and Chelsea coach Graham Potter are the names to replace Southgate.

Southgate’s contract will expire in December but the Three Lions need a more experienced and more suitable hand to hand England their first major trophy in over 50 years.

England have come close twice Under Southgate having played in the Euros final back to back.

England were defeated by France in 2020 and we’re also beaten by Spain on Sunday as the wait for a trophy remains for the Three Lions.

Southgate has been heavily criticized on his selection to the 2024 Euros tournament which some senior players, as reported by several news channels complained.

Two significant exclusions on the list included Manchester United’s Harry Maguire and Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

It was however said that the England senior players were not happy with these exclusions from Southgate including Marcus Rashford.

England arrived home on Monday following their defeat to Spain and a major announcement in the managerial aspect will soon be made.
