Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, extends his warm congratulations to the Rangers International Football Club of Enugu for their remarkable victory in the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
With a resounding 2-0 win over Bendel Insurance Football Club at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Sunday, the Rangers secured their eighth league title, with a game to spare.
Goals from Kenechukwu Agu in the 33rd minute and Chidiebere Nwobodo in the 65th minute sealed the victory for the team. This triumph marks their second league title since 2016, solidifying their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in Nigerian football.
The Rangers’ closest rivals, Remo Stars and Enyimba Football Club, suffered defeats in their match-day 37 fixtures against Sunshine Stars and Sporting Lagos, respectively, further securing the Rangers’ unassailable 67-point lead.
