A Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Ibadan arraigned a 52-year-old estate agent named Johnbosco Dauda for an alleged N430,000 fraud on Wednesday.

Dauda, whose address was not disclosed, faces charges of theft and obtaining money through deception.

According to the Prosecutor, Mr. Philip Amusan, the defendant committed the crime on May 6 in the Sango area of Ibadan.

Amusan mentioned that Dauda took the money from the complainant, Ifeanyi Nnabuike, under the guise of leasing a three-bedroom flat for him.

The prosecutor stated that the defendant misappropriated the money for his personal benefit and use.

He highlighted that the actions of the defendant violated Sections 419 and 399(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo, 2000.

The Court President, Mrs. Sukurat Yusuf, granted the defendant bail amounting to N300,000 with two sureties of the same sum.

The case has been adjourned until July 3rd for further proceedings.
