Primate Elijah Ayodele, the founder of the INRI Spiritual Evangelical Church and a prominent spiritual leader, has revealed that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma will play a pivotal role in the potential release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Ayodele emphasized that Kanu should cease consultations with various groups to facilitate his release, asserting that Governor Uzodinma will be among those who will assist in this endeavor.
Despite Uzodinma’s decision not to run in the upcoming governorship election in Imo State, Ayodele asserted that no other candidate could prevail against one backed by the distinguished senator. He specifically mentioned that if Emeka Ihedioha, the former House of Representatives member and previous governor of Imo State, chooses to contest, he would be unsuccessful, and Uzodinma’s candidate would emerge victorious.
Ayodele stated that Uzodinma’s influence would be a significant asset in elections across the Southeast. “Hope will be a crucial factor; he will inspire hope in various regions, despite facing criticism. Hope will illuminate the Southeast,” he remarked. He added that the ongoing sit-at-home orders would come to an end, crediting Uzodinma as the driving force behind Kanu’s release.
He urged Kanu to adopt a humble approach in order to facilitate his liberation.
The spiritual leader cautioned that excessive consultations could hinder the imprisoned Biafran leader’s path to freedom, insisting that Kanu should not remain incarcerated beyond 2025.
Ayodele advised Kanu to remain vigilant against deception and to negotiate the terms of his release effectively. He also warned that the Eastern Security Network (ESN) might face attacks from opposing groups.
He expressed confidence that the Southeast governors would unite to abolish the Monday sit-at-home orders. “Nnamdi Kanu, don’t let others influence you to delay your release beyond 2025. Avoid advice that may prolong your imprisonment under this administration.
“Nnamdi Kanu should show humility and ensure he negotiates favorable terms for his release. The ESN is likely to encounter counterattacks, and all governors in the Southeast will collectively work to end the Monday shutdown,” Ayodele stated.
He concluded by highlighting that the self-imposed economic shutdown harms the Southeast, asserting that the real struggle is against themselves rather than the government in Abuja.
