Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the former National Publicity Secretary of the now-defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the newly reinstated Rivers
APC executive committee, under the leadership of Emeka Beke, to actively pursue the inclusion of Governor Siminalayi Fubara into the national ruling party. He also emphasized the importance of formalizing the memberships of 27 lawmakers, led by Martins Amaewhule.
Eze made these remarks following a ruling by a State High Court in Port Harcourt, which confirmed Beke and his team’s legitimacy as the rightful state chairman and executive committee members of the APC in Rivers State.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Eze urged the National Working Committee of the party to honor the court’s ruling and provide Beke’s executive team with the necessary support to advance the party’s agenda.
He stated, “We will not accept any unwarranted interference in Rivers State APC affairs, especially by appointing individuals who are not members of the APC, such as Tony Okocha and his misguided associates who are not registered in the party.”
With a sense of relief, Eze declared that the restoration of order within the APC in Rivers State presents an opportunity for the leadership to “Encourage Governor Sim Fubara to join our party rather than seeking affiliation with other political entities, as we are ready to assist him in every possible way to enhance the state’s progress.”
Eze characterized the court ruling as a significant setback for FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and his associates within the APC National Working Committee, suggesting that their attempts to sway judicial officials had ultimately failed.
He dismissed Tony Okocha’s threat to appeal the ruling as “the joke of the year,” asserting that it was merely a desperate attempt by someone floundering for support.
