Renowned rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz the Bhad Guy, recently shed light on his relationship with singer Simi.
Fans may recall that Simi and Falz sparked dating rumours following the release of their joint EP, ‘Chemistry,’ in 2016. The collaboration between the two artists led many to speculate about a possible romantic connection.
In a recent interview, Falz clarified the nature of their relationship, emphasizing that it was strictly musical. He described their bond as a “sonic relationship” and shared insights into their collaboration.
Falz recounted how he first reached out to Simi after hearing her hit song ‘Jamb Question.’ He recalled, “I met Simi 2013 or 2014. I reached out to her first time I heard ‘Jamb Question’ to let her know I’ve written a verse for the remix that we’ve not yet discussed.” This initial contact led to a successful collaboration and a deep musical connection.
Falz continued, “And we went on to do it, shot the video, and from then onwards, every other track was so natural. She’s family, we really really clicked musically and we just had to really explore that. It was beautiful.”

Their professional rapport resulted in several more collaborations, showcasing their seamless musical chemistry. Most recently, Falz featured on ‘Borrow Me Your Baby’ from Simi’s latest album, ‘Lost And Found.’
The rumors of a romantic relationship between Simi and Falz were ultimately dispelled when Simi married her longtime partner, singer Adekunle Gold, on January 9, 2019. The couple’s union was a private affair, putting an end to any speculation about Simi’s relationship with Falz.
In 2020, Simi and Adekunle Gold welcomed their first child, Adejare, further solidifying their family life.
