As the Eid al-Adha (Sallah) celebration approaches, livestock traders report that the price of rams has soared, with costs doubling or tripling compared to last year. This increase also affects animal feed and transportation expenses.
Abdullahi Adamu, a livestock trader, told the Daily Trust that the smallest suitable rams now range between N120,000 and N150,000, a sharp rise from last year’s N70,000 to N100,000 range. Medium-sized rams, previously priced between N150,000 and N180,000, now cost between N250,000 and N300,000. Prices for jumbo-sized rams have surged from N800,000 to N1.4 million, up from N500,000 in the previous year.

We offer a wide variety of healthy livestock, free caretaking services up to three days before Sallah, and complimentary feed for at least three days before Eid.”
Livestock prices at Farm Zone range from N50,000 to N2 million, covering ten size categories to suit different budgets. The company also provides free caretaking services for up to three days before Eid and free feed for at least three days before the celebration.
