In a bid to enhance maternal and child safety, the FCT administration has initiated a free healthcare program specifically designed for pregnant women and other residents.

Addressing attendees at the “Renewed Hope Free Medical Outreach” held in Kuje Area Council, FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the FCT Minister of State, emphasized that the initiative seeks to offer accessible and high-quality healthcare services at no cost to the residents of FCT.

Represented by Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, the Mandate Secretary of the Health and Environment Secretariat, FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud emphasized the crucial role of healthcare in enhancing quality of life.

She highlighted that while infrastructure such as roads is important, without adequate healthcare, societal well-being cannot be fully realized. Dr. Mahmoud underscored the initiative’s focus on human development and improving both social and physical determinants of health.

She elaborated on the services offered during the outreach, including antenatal care, general outpatient care, paediatrics, dental care, and health insurance.

Dr. Mahmoud assured continued access to these services beyond the outreach, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring comprehensive healthcare coverage for residents.

The initiative, named “Renewed Hope,” reflects the government’s dedication to revitalizing community health and was met with appreciation for the cooperation of the people of Kuje.
