In a remarkable development, the Federal Government has expressed its appreciation for the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) for empowering 72 Nigerian graduates through their specialized training programs.

These graduates have successfully completed their studies in Railway Engineering and various transportation-related courses, which were fully sponsored by CCECC as part of their commitment to corporate social responsibility.

The Director of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry of Transportation, Olujimi Oyetomi, made this announcement in an official statement released on Saturday.

The government recognizes the importance of the National Local Content Policy for Railway, established in 2018, and remains steadfast in its dedication to promoting indigenous participation in the railway sector.

During a recent event, Senator Said Alkali, the Transportation Minister, highlighted the significant contributions made by the rail transport sub-sector to the nation’s development.

In response, the government initiated the “Advocacy for Enhanced Local Content in Nigeria’s Infrastructure Development based on Nigerian-Chinese Bilateral Agreements.” The Federal Ministry of Transportation has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementing various measures to ensure the effective execution of this policy.

The statement further emphasized the positive outcome of the collaboration between the Ministry of Transportation and CCECC, stating, “The success story of today’s occasion signifies the Ministry of Transportation’s initiative, as CCECC has willingly undertaken the task of training Nigerian graduates in China as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.”

This commendable partnership between the Federal Government and CCECC demonstrates their shared commitment to empowering Nigerian talents in the field of railway engineering.

It serves as a testament to the government’s dedication to fostering local expertise and promoting sustainable infrastructure development in Nigeria.
