The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, 2024, a public holiday in celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement released by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians both at home and abroad, commending the dedication and resilience of the nation’s citizens, and emphasizing that their sacrifices will not be in vain.
He also encouraged Nigerians to reflect on the “labour of our heroes past” and be inspired to work towards building a united and prosperous nation. As the country celebrates this milestone, Tunji-Ojo urged all citizens to remain committed to the task of nation-building.
