Nigeria U-17 women team the Flamingos has qualified for the next edition of the FIFA U-17 women’s world cup, slated to take place in Dominica Republic.
Nigeria won both legs of the double-headed tie against their Liberian counterparts.
The Flamengos won the first leg 4-1 to set the pace for their qualification.
Abidemi Moshood set the ball rolling for Nigeria after opening the scoring in the 19th minute to open the scoring for Nigeria.
Ten minutes later, Peace Effiong doubled the advantage in the 29th minute before Harmony Chidi completed the third goal in the first half to put the game beyond the Liberians.
The second half did not produce much goals as Nigeria only needed one goal, this time from Blessing Ifitezue in the 74th minute to cement Nigeria’s victory and set the tie beyond liberia.

Played on the turf of MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday, Harmony Chidi opened the scoring in the fourth minute.
Chidi doubled her scoring in the 63rd minute to gift Nigeria the assurance of being in the world, taking the tally beyond the Liberians.
The 2-0 victory in Abuja took the game margin to 6-1 on aggregate following Nigeria’s 4-1 win in the first leg.
This year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals will be staged in Santiago de los Caballeros and Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, between October 16 to November 3 of this year.
