Injured Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has been dropped by the head coach of the Nigeria national team as he will be replaced by Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) star and Enugu Rangers left-back Kenneth Igboke.
After being included in the initial list, Osimhen was later announced that he will be out for four weeks after battling with injuries in recent weeks and will miss the crucial games against South Africa and then Benin Republic.
The former Lille man who led Naples-based side Napoli to their first Scudeto in over two decades has been battling with injuries since returning from the African Cup of Nations where he helped Nigeria clinche Silver, facing their only defeat in the hands of the eventual winners and host Cote d’Ivoire in the final.
Igboke has been phenomenal this term to his club Rangers who are top of the Nigeria Premier Football League table.
The 20-year old left back has earned his first call up to the senior national team and his dream debut for the super Eagles of Nigeria is very possible.
