A fire outbreak occurred on a small section of the Lagos Blue Line track, specifically opposite the NEPA Station near the Eko Bridge in the Apogbon area of Lagos State.
Gboyega Akosile, spokesman for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reported the incident on his X.com account (@gboyegakosile), noting that the fire started at 4:12 p.m. on Saturday.
Fortunately, there were no reported casualties, and no train services were operating at the time.
Akosile further informed that a team of safety and emergency personnel, along with other first responders, successfully extinguished the fire.
“Lagosians in the area can continue their activities peacefully, as the situation is now under control,” he stated. He also advised the public to await further updates regarding train operations from @Lamataonline.
