Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, has refuted claims that she is organizing a National Prayer event.
In a statement issued by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, on Saturday, the First Lady clarified that the rumors circulating on various conventional and social media platforms are completely false and misleading.
The statement reads: “The reports circulating about a joint National Prayer for Nigeria are unfounded. Anyone who has encountered such information should disregard it as false.”
While the First Lady, a devout Christian and advocate of prayer, emphasizes the importance of prayer as a voluntary, conscientious, and genuine act, she also stresses that praying for the well-being of Nigeria is the duty of every citizen—regardless of religious belief, political affiliation, tribe, or language.
The public is encouraged to verify any news or events involving the First Lady or her office through official channels.
