Chief Emeka Anyaoku, the former Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations, has lauded Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for his significant development initiatives in Anambra State, suggesting that future governors will face fewer challenges as a result.
During his visit to Awka, Chief Anyaoku toured various ongoing infrastructure projects, including the New Government House and the Governor’s Lodge, which he described as exceptional developments.
Accompanied by Governor Soludo, he also inspected the Solution Fun City and Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, after which he expressed his intention to advocate for President Bola Tinubu to officially inaugurate these projects.
Chief Anyaoku remarked, “What I have witnessed today is among the most remarkable developments.”
He praised the strategic planning evident in the projects, emphasizing the need for a visionary leader like Governor Soludo to achieve such synchronization across the three branches of government.
“I commend Governor Soludo for considering every potential requirement of the state government. These structures are built to endure,” he stated.
He further added, “No future governor of Anambra can surpass the accomplishments in terms of the governor’s residence and office facilities.”
Anyaoku recalled seeing an amphitheater with a capacity of 250 people previously, noting the new amphitheater at the government house can accommodate 1,000 attendees.
He congratulated Governor Soludo for establishing “a substantial legacy.”
In response, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude for Chief Anyaoku’s willingness to spend time reviewing the various projects. He referred to Anyaoku as Africa’s most esteemed statesman and acknowledged his contributions to the state.
“We are committed to building structures that endure. The 33-year-old challenge will be overcome in the coming weeks,” Soludo affirmed.
