Uche Secondus, the former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has labeled Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as the foremost danger to democracy in Nigeria.

Secondus expressed concern that Wike’s unchecked behavior could jeopardize the country’s democratic framework. His comments came in response to the recent local government elections held in Rivers State.

In a statement, Secondus cautioned the federal government that the individual it is seemingly shielding is intent on undermining democracy and should be monitored closely.

“It’s astonishing that in our country, and particularly under a party like the APC, one individual can belong to two political parties and use this duality to create chaos in society,” he remarked.

He urged President Bola Tinubu to recognize Wike for what he truly is: “an unruly bull in a china shop, eager to destroy everything in his path to satisfy his violent tendencies.”

Secondus emphasized the strategic significance of Rivers State, noting that it hosts vital national assets.

He asserted that the signs of a failing democracy are already apparent in Nigeria, urging the federal government to exercise caution in its dealings with anti-democratic figures like Wike.
