In the recent Ballon D’Or award night 2024, Manchester United academy graduates Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Gernacho were ranked third and sixth respectively, making United academy one of the most celebrated in 2024.
As released by CIES, the tow Manchester clubs remain the only English teams to have their players on the top ten most expensive U-21 players.
Both Manchester United and Manchester City have two players each on the list as Kopa trophy winner Lamin Yamal topping the list.
Barcelona’s prodigy Yamal is rated as the most expensive teenager in 2024 with a market value of £150 million.
Manchester United and Argentine rising star Alejandro Gernacho remain second with a value of £95 million.
Gernacho has been superb this season for Manchester United, playing in almost every one of United’s games so far this season.
Mainoo who finished third as the best young player is ninth in the valuation list with a market value of £62 million while Manchester City’s Savio and Rico Lewis are rated at 4th and 7th respectively with market values of £84 million and £72 million.
