The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has asserted that former presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) lacks any significant support in Kano State.

Ganduje warned Kwankwaso to brace himself for the harsh realities of the 2027 elections, stating that the Kwankwasiyya movement has lost its momentum in the state.

Speaking at the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum Dinner, which honoured key party figures, Ganduje was represented by the APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas. He remarked that many former supporters of Kwankwaso now regret their past choices.

“I am often astonished when Rabiu Kwankwaso claims he has the backing of the people,” Ganduje said. “I can confidently say that if it weren’t for our internal challenges, he wouldn’t have secured any victories in Kano. This time, reality will hit him hard.”

Ganduje emphasized that those who once supported Kwankwaso are now disillusioned. “The Kwankwasiyya movement is finished, and even the current governor is largely unaware of the circumstances unfolding around him.”

He urged APC members in the state to come together to reclaim Kano from the NNPP in the upcoming 2027 elections. “Unity is our only path forward. It is our sole option if we wish to achieve our objectives. Divine intervention has already begun in our favor,” he added.

“The present government is mismanaging the state, and we are merely awaiting the right moment. The next election will feel like removing a hen from its nest,” he concluded.
