Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed circulating social media posters suggesting he plans to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Describing the posters as fake and malicious, Ganduje attributed the false claims to mischief makers.
In a statement released on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje clarified that he has no intention of running for president, as suggested by the posters, which also claimed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma would be his running mate.
The statement read: “The poster circulating on social media, suggesting that Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is running for the presidency in 2027 with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma as his running mate, is completely false and a malicious fabrication of fake news.
“This is likely the work of mischief-makers, possibly in collaboration with elements within the Kwankwassiyya movement, aiming to sow discord between Dr. Ganduje and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“To be clear, Dr. Ganduje remains steadfastly loyal to President Tinubu and fully supports his vision and leadership. He believes that President Tinubu is steering Nigeria towards greater unity and prosperity.
“We urge the public to ignore this false story and avoid spreading unverified information.”
