Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has firmly rejected claims suggesting his involvement in a new scheme to remove Emir Muhammad Sanusi II from his position.

This response comes after a social media report gained traction, alleging that “Ganduje is orchestrating a new plan to dethrone Emir Muhammad Sanusi.”

In a statement issued from Abuja on Thursday, communicated through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment, Ganduje addressed the rumors directly.

The statement clarified that “Ganduje has no connection to the current status of Emir Muhammad Sanusi’s enthronement or dethronement. It must be recognized that he is no longer the executive governor or a member of the House of Assembly, thus he holds no authority over the Emirship in Kano.”

He expressed disbelief over the accusations, remarking, “It is absurd to suggest that Ganduje, who has been out of office for years, is plotting to remove or install an Emir. Presently, he is focused on leading the APC and takes pride in the significant contributions he made during his governorship, including substantial advancements in democracy, infrastructure, and governance.”

Ganduje also condemned those perpetuating these claims, labeling them as having a “secretive and malicious agenda” aimed at sowing discord between him and the presidency.

He concluded by emphasizing his respect for President Bola Tinubu, stating, “Our relationship has been very amicable, and no amount of slander can undermine the strength of our partnership.”
