Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke officially handed over five operational vehicles to the newly elected members of the state Community Development Council on Monday.

During the event, he urged the council to utilize these vehicles to help secure government properties in their neighborhoods.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the State Government House in Osogbo, where Governor Adeleke emphasized the importance of collaboration between the community development council and the government in safeguarding public assets.

He encouraged the newly appointed leaders to leverage their diverse experiences to enhance the socio-economic conditions of the grassroots population. “Our government will continue to partner with stakeholders like you, who are committed to our developmental agendas outlined in our administration’s 5-point Agenda,” he stated.

Governor Adeleke reassured the citizens of Osun State, saying, “As we fulfill our electoral promises, we value your unwavering cooperation and support. No effort will be spared to improve the lives of our people.”

Highlighting the democratic principles that guide his leadership, he remarked, “I am here by the will of God and the people. Democracy thrives when the will of the people prevails. Our administration is dedicated to uplifting the lives of the people of Osun State.”

In less than two years, the governor noted that his administration has achieved significant milestones across various sectors, including infrastructure, health, agriculture, education, social welfare, and rural development. “We have earned the trust of our people and solidified our commitment to them,” he added.

The Commissioner for Rural Development, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, praised the governor for his steadfast support of grassroots initiatives and acknowledged the procurement of operational vehicles for community development councils.

In a show of solidarity, the newly inaugurated Chairman of the Community Development Council, Alhaji Agbajelola Salam, reaffirmed the council’s commitment to aligning with the governor’s developmental agenda. “We will promote active community participation and engagement to spread the government’s vision for development across urban and rural areas,” he said.

He further highlighted key achievements of the government, including road construction, electrification projects, classroom construction, healthcare service improvements, and agricultural initiatives aimed at boosting food production.

Salam concluded by assuring the people of Osun State that the newly formed Community Development Council is dedicated to implementing government policies on development with enthusiasm and a focus on delivering the benefits of democracy to all citizens.
