As the Nigerian Army concludes plans to converge in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, for the 2024 Chief of Army Staff Conference on Tuesday, 20th August, the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has advised citizens not to panic at the unusual presence of military personnel around town during the period.

The Governor also announced that the State will take delivery of a new Airbus A220-300 aircraft, at the Victor Attah International Airport on the same day.

This will be the second of ten Airbus aircrafts ordered for the State-owned airline that will be received by Governor Eno since assumption of office.

Governor Eno made this known during Sunday service at the All Nations Christian Ministry International, Eket LGA and affirmed that the aircraft’s delivery is a fallout of his recent engagement with the Airbus team in Maastricht, Netherlands.

He described the selection of Akwa Ibom State for the 2024 Chief of Army Staff Conference as a gesture well appreciated.

Reassuring everyone of his commitment to serve Akwa Ibom people and to remain connected with the electorates, Governor Eno decried the recent cloning of his regular phone line by hackers and promised to restore the line.

He also reaffirmed the readiness of his administration, through the Bulk Purchase Agency, to take delivery of truck loads of food items which would be distributed to needy citizens, noting that the intervention is also aimed at tackling the wanton increase of prices by retailers.

He stressed that distribution of government palliatives will be based strictly on the updated social register, with no consideration for political affiliations, cautioning political stakeholders at the grassroots against all tendencies of “winner takes all” , describing it as anti-christian and not representative of the Akwa Ibom spirit.

In a sermon tagged “Power of Courage,” taken from 2 Timothy 3:1-9, the Presiding Pastor of All Nation Christian Ministry, Ndaeyo Udomfuk, preached that amid the consciousness of rivers to cross on the way of success, there is need for courage against challenging circumstances and making good decisions in the face of confusion.

Pastor Udomfuk urged Christians to build courage by drawing strength from God and maintaining focus on the testimonies of past victories as well as previous experiences of God’s power.

The Church service featured the 50th birthday thanksgiving of Elder Imaikop Eno and his 21st Marriage anniversary.
