In a significant move for Taraba State, Governor Agbu Kefas has commenced the remodeling of the General Sani Abacha State Secretariat in Jalingo, a project that has been pending since 1993.

During a visit to the Secretariat on Wednesday, the Nigerian Tribune learned that this initiative is a fulfillment of Governor Kefas’s promise to revamp the aging building. Architect Ignatius Agbese, who oversees the project, revealed that the contract has been awarded to ERADAPPA and ASSOCIATES LTD.

The aim is to deliver the Secretariat in top-notch quality, setting a new standard among state secretariats across Nigeria.The remodeling will introduce a modern three-story building equipped with a lift and other state-of-the-art facilities.

This upgrade is designed to provide contemporary office space for civil servants and members of the state executive council.Civil servants expressed their appreciation for Governor Kefas’s commitment to enhancing public infrastructure.

Employees including Mr. Tanko Ayuba, Sarah Musa, and John Adi noted that upon completion, the remodeled Secretariat will serve as a morale booster, creating a more conducive working environment that will inspire improved performance.

Public affairs analyst and journalist Mr. Justin Tyopuusu emphasized that the remodeling of the General Sani Abacha State Secretariat, along with other public infrastructure projects undertaken by the governor, symbolizes a brighter future for Taraba.

He highlighted that the governor’s efforts are not just about upgrading facilities but about positioning Taraba as a promising destination for investment.

“Today, anyone who visits Taraba will see a leader with a vision for a greater future. The governor is showcasing Taraba to the world, and soon, the benefits of his investments will be evident.

These projects will signal to investors and friends of Taraba that ‘now Taraba is ready for business,'” Tyopuusu stated.
