Governor Alex Otti has encouraged the leading Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, to pursue initiatives that safeguard the interests of Igboland.

Otti shared this message in Umuahia during the inauguration of the new executive members of the state chapter of the organization.

Represented by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mr. Okey Kanu, the governor emphasized the necessity for the group to consistently “articulate the Igbo interests.”

He acknowledged the significant responsibility that comes with their new roles, highlighting that they will be the voice for many people within the Igbo community.

Otti urged the newly elected leaders to commit themselves to serving the Igbo people diligently.

He also advised them to avoid personal agendas and instead focus on advocating for the Igbo wherever they may be.

The governor praised the committee from the organization’s national secretariat for their commendable work and extended his congratulations to the new officials on their appointment.
