Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State, has participated in the ongoing Local Government elections by casting his vote.
Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, the governor arrived at Polling Unit 17 in Ward 5 of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area around 12:45 p.m.
After fulfilling his civic duty, Governor Otti addressed the press, expressing his contentment with the smooth conduct of the election.
He stated, “Reports indicate that the elections are progressing peacefully across the 4,062 polling units statewide, with only minor disturbances reported in Ohafia and Obingwa Local Government Areas, which were promptly addressed by security personnel.”
Emphasizing the importance of effective governance at the grassroots level, Otti noted that strong local administration is crucial for the comprehensive development of Abia State.
He encouraged the people of Abia to select trustworthy candidates capable of delivering results, regardless of their political affiliations.
Otti remarked, “To continue reaping the benefits of democracy and ensure good governance, it is essential to prioritize credibility over political party loyalty.”
