Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has urged all Nigerians to rally behind the Federal Government’s efforts aimed at fortifying democracy, addressing what he termed “judicial terrorism.”
During his address at the 64th Independence Anniversary Celebration held at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Fubara paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the nation’s founding fathers, recognizing their unwavering commitment to the country’s unity and advancement.
Despite the prevailing socio-economic difficulties, the governor emphasized that citizens still have ample reasons to celebrate. He called upon the populace to collaborate with the government to facilitate economic recovery.
Fubara praised President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms and encouraged fellow governors to intensify their efforts against banditry in the North and pipeline disruptions in the South, describing these initiatives as vital for revitalizing the nation’s economy.
He reiterated his promise to provide effective governance in Rivers State, showcasing accomplishments in human capital development and infrastructure improvements across various sectors.
Additionally, Fubara commended the state’s security forces for their contributions to maintaining internal peace and expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the citizens of Rivers State for their ongoing support of his administration.
He assured the public that his government would remain steadfast in the face of falsehoods and attempts at blackmail.
The event culminated in Fubara symbolically releasing peace pigeons, representing the state’s aspirations for enduring peace and progress.
