Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has shown once again his administration’s dedication to enhancing the relationship with the United Kingdom.

This commitment was seen during a visit from Mr David Lammy, the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs of the UK, which took place at the Lagos House, Marina.

“We aspire to strengthen our connections further during your tenure and to truly enhance our partnership,” the governor stated.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the state government is focused on improving security and safety measures, as well as creating a more conducive environment for trade and investment in Lagos.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration, he welcomed Lammy warmly, stating, “Let me extend a formal welcome to you in Lagos, the commercial hub of our nation.”

He underscored Lagos’s key role in unlocking Nigeria’s economic potential.

In his remarks, Lammy expressed gratitude to the people of Lagos State for their warm hospitality and friendship. “Lagos is not only a key city for Nigeria but also for West Africa. Many families here have connections to the UK,” he noted.

He praised the Sanwo-Olu administration for its efforts in developing the Blue Line Rail and the upcoming Red Line Rail projects. Lammy expressed optimism for a stronger relationship between Lagos and the United Kingdom moving forward.
