Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on residents to express their gratitude to God for their lives and the advancements within the state.

This appeal was made during the 25th Annual Thanksgiving Service, themed “Harvest of Thanksgiving,” organized by the First Family of Lagos State in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized that 2025 will be a pivotal year for residents to showcase attributes such as hard work, resilience, and perseverance.

He remarked, “In 2025, we have the opportunity to embody and instill the enduring virtues of resilience, determination, and hard work—qualities that have historically transformed our city from a simple swampland into Africa’s exemplary megacity.”

The governor noted that 2024 was marked by significant developments and the implementation of challenging policies by President Bola Tinubu, which are beginning to show positive results.

He highlighted that Lagos has experienced growth across various sectors, a trend that is expected to continue into the New Year, and expressed optimism as Nigeria gains a more favorable global perception, attracting increased foreign direct investments.

Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated his administration’s commitment to harnessing the state’s rich human and natural resources to foster a better society. He assured residents that his government would maintain its partnership with the Federal Government to ensure that all citizens benefit from the dividends of democracy.

The governor also promised that the Executive would collaborate with the state Legislature to provide reliable and affordable electricity while committing to hold local government elections within the year.
