Former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has been voted Olympique Marseille’s best player of the month of August.

Greenwood had been a revolution for Marseille in his first three games of the season.

The England international has scored five goals with one assist in just three games while remaining the leading goalscorer in the Ligue one.

Marseille coach Roberto De Zebri once quoted the youngster to be exactly the player Marseille wanted and he has proven his worth.

Greenwood spent last season on loan at Getafe and despite a stellar season, Manchester United had no intention of allowing him back into the fold.

He was suspended by the club after he was arrested by police on charges including attempted rape and domestic violence.

He was since cleared of all charges, but has now expressed his joy at being allowed to continue his career.
