In a bid to alleviate the ongoing economic hardship, the federal government has dispatched 20 trucks of rice to each state across the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Each state has received these trucks, with each truck carrying 1,200 bags of 25kg rice, intended for distribution to the most vulnerable populations.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced this at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which was presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday.

“This consignment is the federal government’s initial step in providing support to all the sub-nationals,” Idris stated.

He added that the states are expected to distribute the rice to help ease the current hardship in the country.
