Reports indicate that Oluwakemi allegedly used a pestle to fatally strike her husband on the head while he was asleep. The couple, who had been married for over seven years, shared a life together and were raising three children. Their domestic life, which outwardly seemed stable, was reportedly marred by underlying tensions and allegations of infidelity, particularly directed at the husband.

A family member, speaking to the Daily Trust, recounted the grim details of the incident. “There had been a misunderstanding between the couple over allegations of infidelity, particularly against the man. His wife had been accusing him of not being faithful in the marriage by keeping a ‘side chick,'” the source revealed. The source went on to express deep sorrow, describing the emotional scene at the hospital upon seeing Seidu’s lifeless body.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the tragic death on Sunday. According to Odunlami-Omisanya, it was Omolara herself who reported the incident to the police. She claimed that unknown assailants had attacked and killed her husband during the night. “I can’t confirm that the victim’s wife killed him because it was the woman, the complainant of the incident, that reported the matter at the police station. We have not made any arrest, but investigation has begun into the incident,” she stated.

The case has left the community in Akungba Akoko in a state of shock. Neighbors and friends are grappling with the news, trying to understand how a seemingly normal marital conflict could escalate to such a violent and tragic end. The couple’s three children are now left without their father, and their mother is under severe scrutiny as investigations continue.
