This afternoon, a shocking incident of domestic violence occurred in Benin City, Edo State, where a husband reportedly beat his wife into a coma over a disagreement about lunch.
Neighbors in the quiet neighborhood of Ugbowo Road were alarmed by loud noises and screams coming from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Osagie. Eyewitnesses reported seeing Mr. Joseph physically assaulting his wife, Anita, after a heated argument about the lunch she had prepared.
Efforts by neighbors to intervene and stop the assault were unsuccessful, and Mrs. Osagie was left unconscious before help arrived. She was rushed to the Hospital by concerned community members, where she is currently receiving medical attention in critical condition.
